Biography
He studied rudiment, drum and rhythmic solfeggio with Walter Calloni, Latin percussion at the Umbria Jazz Workshop with Ray Mantilla and graduated in modern percussion at the Centro Professione Musica in Milan with Candelo Cabezas. He began his career with Carlos Ugueto's band and then moved to Salzburg, Austria, where he attended musicology seminars at the ORF Institute; he perfected his studies with Amos Afany and Don Um Romao. In the same years he taught percussion at Kultur Gelande and at the same time played in concerts and theatrical performances in Austria, Germany and Holland.
In 1992 he returned to Italy where he regularly collaborated with Melodrama Ensamble Mediterraneo, a theatrical and musical group directed by Mauro Sabbione and M.Cinzia Bauci and at the same time he founded the bands Aguardiente, Corazon Latino and Sin Fronteras and made numerous trips to Peru and Brazil where he joined contact with artists such as Margareth Menezes Carlinhos Brown and Tizumba.
In 1994 he participated with Melodrama in the creation of the soundtrack for the multimedia work composed of unpublished material granted by the archives of Cuba on the figure of Che Guevara “Saudade Che” taking the show on tour. In 1996 he entered permanently in the bands Esperando and Caffe 'Espresso. He makes further trips to Brazil by joining the Bloco Afro Filhos de Marujo with which he parades at the Carnival of Bahia 2004. He has just released his first CD Incontro das aguas to be released at the end of May 2018.
